A two tone mug with the colour on the outside and the dark on the inside. The exterior is a glossy glaze in one of five colours; the interior and the band at the mouth carry a matte black coating. On a shelf it reads as a coloured mug, at the table as a black one, and the rim band frames the mouth like a drawn line.

Product Details
The black interior is not only a design choice. Coffee and tea leave a brown ring on a white interior within weeks of daily use, and a dark interior hides it without hiding the drink. Two surface treatments on one body means two controlled steps. The exterior is glazed and fired for colour; the interior and rim band receive a matte black coating that fuses during a further pass, and the boundary at the mouth is masked so the line stays straight. Because the two surfaces finish differently, decoration is chosen per surface: print on the glossy colour, laser on the black coating.
