The September Stocking Checklist: Christmas and Ramadan 2027 on One Calendar
Two Seasons, One Calendar, No Room for Drift
September is the month when two major buying seasons converge: Christmas (with its fixed retail calendar) and Ramadan 2027 (expected to begin around mid-February 2027, with procurement running 90-120 days ahead). For importers and wholesalers serving both markets, September is the last month where decisions still fit the timeline — confirm samples now, lock packaging this month, and both seasons stay on track. Drift past September and you are choosing which season to sacrifice.

This checklist lays out both seasons on one calendar, with the concrete action for each month.
The Christmas Track (Fixed Retail Calendar)
The pattern. Christmas retail demand follows a hard calendar: goods must clear customs and reach distribution by late October to early November to make the shelf. Decorated mugs (sublimation, decal, festive patterns) need the longest lead times because decoration setup and sampling run ahead of production.
The September actions:
- Samples approved by mid-September — decoration samples for festive mugs must be signed off now; there is no October redo.
- Packaging finalized by late September — gift boxes, sleeves and inserts must be locked so production isn't blocked at the packaging stage.
- Production booked — confirm kiln and decoration line capacity for your October slots; Q4 capacity fills fast and late bookings slip to December, which is too late.
- Shipping planned — sea freight 4-6 weeks means a mid-October sail date for a November arrival; book the container space early.
The Ramadan 2027 Track (90-120 Day Window)
The pattern. Ramadan 2027 is expected to begin around February 17, 2027 (subject to moon sighting), with gifting concentrated in the weeks before it. B2B procurement needs a 90-120 day lead time: samples → packaging → production → sea freight → customs and distribution. Working backward from mid-February, September is the sample-confirmation and packaging-decision month.
The September actions:
- Samples confirmed now — Middle East buyers order Ramadan tableware in time for the pre-season; September confirmation keeps the December-January production window open.
- Packaging designs locked in September — bilingual labels (Arabic/English), gift-box formats and festive packaging must be finalized this month.
- Production window Oct-Nov — with samples and packaging locked, October-November production delivers a late-December shipment that clears customs by January — still comfortably ahead of the season.
- Reorders planned — Ramadan programs generate reorders; confirm your supplier's reorder terms now so a sell-through reorder doesn't restart the whole process.

The Mistakes That Cost the Season
Waiting for "a better price." By October, capacity is the constraint, not price. A slightly better quote in October does not help if the production slot is gone. September is the month to commit on confirmed capacity.
Treating the two seasons separately. Christmas and Ramadan share the same factory capacity in October-November. A buyer who plans both together gets first pick of production slots; a buyer who plans Christmas first and Ramadan later discovers the kiln is full.
Forgetting customs and distribution. Landed cost and arrival date include customs clearance and distribution. A late-December sail for Ramadan lands in January only if documentation (origin certs, halal certs where required, declarations) is already in order. Prepare documents in September with the order, not in December with the shipment.
Lock September, Ship the Season
September is the hinge month: everything decided here keeps both seasons on schedule, and everything postponed here risks one of them. For importers and wholesalers running Christmas and Ramadan programs, the September actions are the same — approve samples, lock packaging, book capacity, plan shipping — executed for both tracks on one calendar. Our factory is booking Q4 capacity now and confirms sample, packaging and production timelines in writing. If you have either season in your program, send us your quantities and target arrival dates; we will confirm the September-to-shipment schedule today.
