The Re-Qualification Week

The practical rule: do not schedule the critical spring items for the first week back; schedule them for the second week, when the first re-qualification batches have passed the gates (see our inspection guide for the quality gates). The buyers who force the schedule into week one get batches that need rework; the buyers who wait one week get clean first runs.

Booking the Early Capacity and the First Batches

The early capacity is the most contested resource of the restart, and it is won by booking, not by asking: the post-restart orders are placed before the shutdown, with the production start dated for the second week back and the dates confirmed in writing (see our scheduling and communication-standards guides for the booking process). The first batches follow a deliberate order: the reorders of proven items go first because they carry no qualification risk, the new items follow after the lines are settled, and the spring program's critical path sits on the second and third weeks (see our first-order and development guides for the sequencing logic). Protecting the Spring Program
